Job Background
EPIC-Africa aims to strengthen the philanthropic ecosystem and civil society in Africa. They provide support to donors and civil society organizations (CSOs) through their CSO platform for Africa, advisory services for donors, and their research and information services.
Their research provides valuable and in-depth insights into African CSOs, which are crucial for creating a more supportive environment for the philanthropic and civil society sectors. Their commitment to maintaining high standards, and relevance, and amplifying African voices is the driving force behind their work.
Purpose of Role
EPIC-Africa is in search of a vibrant and highly capable communications and marketing manager to lead their initiatives aimed at enhancing their brand's overall presence and raising awareness of their offerings.
The perfect candidate will be someone passionate about making a positive impact in society, and a forward-thinking individual with the talent to create compelling marketing campaigns and captivating narratives.
Specific Responsibilities
- In this role, you would be responsible for developing strategic marketing plans that align with the company's mission and values.
- You would also create compelling content for various platforms such as newsletters, blogs, social media, and press releases to support their marketing initiatives.
- Additionally, you would collaborate with management to promote their services and contribute to fundraising efforts.
- You'd also play a key role in preserving their brand identity across all media channels and evaluating the success of their marketing efforts using analytics.
- Building relationships with stakeholders, organizing promotional events, and crafting impactful communications for their program teams and executive director.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a similar discipline, with a master's degree considered ideal.
- Minimum of six years of experience in marketing and communication roles, preferably in the African civil society and social impact sectors.
- At least three years of equivalent experience acquired internationally.
- Ability to organize and execute activities targeted at diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of creating and implementing effective marketing and communication strategies.
- Capability to analyze and assess communication data and adapt plans based on new information.
- Exceptional storytelling, editing, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in social media, analytics, and digital marketing tools.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- A creative, strategic thinker with a passion for social impact.
- Proficiency in both English and French.
